Cormorant Power Construction, Power Services & Power Equipment
EPTCON was a specialized, privately held high-voltage electrical contracting firm serving electrical utilities, independent power producers, and large power users. Its four service lines — EPC, construction and project management, manufacturing, and field testing and commissioning — became the backbone of Cormorant's integrated delivery model.
EPTCON built its reputation on best-in-class service delivered professionally, honestly, and ethically, with the goal of complete customer satisfaction — establishing lasting customer relationships by staying flexible, exceeding expectations, and continuously raising the bar for safety and quality. Those same standards now anchor Cormorant's Power Construction division and the Cambridge manufacturing facility at the heart of Power Equipment.

Cormorant Power Construction & Power Services
Founded in 1968, PowerTel spent more than five decades as a leader in transmission line planning, design, construction, and maintenance — and in building, maintaining, and inspecting substations, switching stations, and terminal points. Its crews delivered marquee work across Ontario and Atlantic Canada: wind farms, mining substations, fibre projects, and distribution rebuilds for utilities and industrial customers.
PowerTel's culture was defined by its people — sound management, disciplined execution, and a "Safety First" atmosphere with a goal of zero lost-time accidents. That people-powered safety culture, along with PowerTel's fleet and Northern Ontario presence, lives on across Cormorant's Construction and Services divisions.

Cormorant Power Services (Engineering)
OneLine Engineering was a specialized power system engineering firm providing complete services from project conception to energization. Its hands-on, detailed engineering approach — refined across years of challenging substation upgrades and greenfield builds — is now the engineering core of Cormorant's Power Services division, where the OneLine name continues on engineering deliverables.
OneLine's specialty was solving difficult design problems alongside its clients and EPC partners: power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, insulation coordination, grounding), protection and control design, relay settings and coordination, substation automation and SCADA integration, utility interconnection design, and full engineering drawing packages through commissioning support.
